The Purpose Driven Life Chapter 2-You Are Not An Accident

Chapter 2: You Are Not An Accident [Partially taken out from the book and minor editing by Laura]

You aren't an accident. Nothing, i mean NOTHING is wrong with you being given birth. You are NOT around by chance, coincidence nor luck. PERHAPS you were unplanned by your parents, BUT you were ALREADY planned by GOD; LONG before He created the world. He knew exactly who and what he wanted to create as well as when and where they should be. From the way you now look all the way to when you will finally go back to Him; from A TO Z. NOTHING has been left out; even up to HOW you should be born. 'Cuz God wants the best for us, His CHILDREN. God's purpose even took into account human error, as well as sin. God NEVER does anything by accident, nor does He make any mistakes. There is ALWAYS A REASON. Why are you here..? What's God's motive..? His LOVE. God LOVES and VALUES you more than anyone ever can. And WHY did God do all this..? WHY bother going through the trouble to create such a wondrous universe for us, eventho' He already knew we'll end up sinning against Him..? Because He is a God of Love!! Undeniable love difficult to fathom, but fundamentally reliable. He made you and i so He could love US. Said here in the bible, "God is love". NOT "God has love", but "IS love". Without God, we'll ALL be 'accidents'. But God is HERE; He who made us; He who gave our lives profound meaning. So, praise the Lord!!

Followed by:
Point to Ponder: I am not an accident.
Verse to Remember: I am your Creator. You were in My care even before you were born. Isaiah 44:2 [CEV]
Question to Consider: Knowing that God uniquely created me, what areas of my personality, background, and physical appearance am i struggling to accept..?

My answer would be a question in return; "What right do we have to complain..?" Because He loved us so, He went through a lot to create us. From:
WHAT should our personalities be..?
WHEN should we be born..?
WHERE should we be born..?
WHICH country should we be born in..?
WHO will our parents be..?
HOW should we look..?
To:
WHAT should we be when we're adults..?
WHEN will we finally settle down..?
WHERE will our future homes be..?
WHICH path should we choose after highschool..?
WHO will be our future spouses..?
HOW should we lead our life during adulthood..?
And so on.

Everything had been planned for us. Everything had been made simple. Yet we take Him for granted by questioning our personality, background and looks. One may have negativity in his/her personality, but that is not disobedience nor wrong-doing. Not wanting to change for the better is disobedience to God.

Background; why shouldn't we be able accept it..? Yes, perhaps there are some who wish they were born into a wealthy family. Or a more loving family if one feels rejected. But as said before, God had already planned everything, even for such a not-so-happy beginning. Because He will have something better for you when the time comes. For all the negativity in life, God evens it out with positivity. It's just up to us to see it.

Physical appearance; most of us have problems with how we look. Some are chubbier than others, some are underweight, some look gorgeous, and some just think they don't have the looks. The thing is; that is how God created us. One may not have the looks, but he/she may have talent in something many are not able to do. Catching up and speaking in many languages, for example. Not everyone has the ability to absorb that much and quickly as to speak in multiple languages. Where there is a minus for us, there'll be a plus. We may not look fantastic to others, but in God's eyes, we are perfect. Others may criticize how we look, but who are they to judge..? I was corrected by Madam Shanty today about this thing where it's not others who make us feel bad about how we look when they judge our appearances, it's US who ALLOW ourselves to feel bad when such a thing happens. If we don't have satisfaction in the way we look; the way God wants us to look, we will just be displeasing Him in the end as He was the one who created us in the first place.

Anything wrong here, readers..? (:
